We’re in a bad phase. So Katelyn the last week or two has been pretty…..challenging. Actually I think that would be an understatement. It’s as if all the sudden the drama hit with full force. She doesn’t like being told what to do and when she gets in trouble or I ask her to do something she just screams and usually resorts to throwing anything in close range. Holy cow! It’s a mess right now. Nothing works as punishment. She doesn’t care if she has to sit in time out or she doesn’t care if you take away her toys or her favorite kids show. Katelyn is always doing something pretty cute sometime during the day and I keep telling myself it’s a good thing she’s so cute. Those moments are what are keeping me sane. So I thought I’d share some recent and maybe some old (since I haven’t blogged forever) moments that have made me laugh or just go…awwwwwe.
The other day we were writing on Katelyn’s chalkboard and she would tell me a name and I would write it down for her. We of course started with all her best friends and buddies and then we finally got to the family. I was helping her out a little bit with her aunt’s and uncles (there’s a lot). So I started saying “Dani.” and she was like Dani. Then I said “Sydney.” and she was like nodding her head again saying “Sydney.” Then I was like “Sam.” and she said again “Sam.” and then I paused for a minute not even really noticing and then she got this really concerned look on her face and she tilted her head a bit and then said “Zachy????” I was like oh YES. Don’t forget Zach. I was surprised that she would remember something like that. Remember who was missing. I think she just really likes Zach!!! :) Super cute!
Katelyn is really into pretending now which I love to play along with. Her favorite right now is pretending she’s leaving with her babies (shopping, errands, etc) or she’s leaving to school. And she’ll always come running into a room and yell “HOME!!!” and I love to ask her “Where did you go?” She’ll always respond with one of three places…Amy’s house, church, or school. :) Then after she’s told me where she’s been she’ll say “Missed you!” That’s when my heart melts. :)
Back in January Katelyn decided to lock herself in the bathroom. I tried explaining to her how to get out but she wasn’t getting it. She didn’t care. She was just sitting on the floor playing with all her Barbie’s. We finally got the “OLD” door open with a screwdriver.
One Saturday morning Craig and I were lying in bed and we hear that Katelyn is up and so Craig yells out to her “Katelyn come here.” and she responds with “Not coming dad! Love you bye!” :) hehe
I was tickling Katelyn for something funny she was doing. She likes being tickled. So she kept on doing what she was doing. Well one time she did her thing and I laughed but no tickling. She then says “tickle me!” I couldn’t stop laughing.
Katelyn has recently started to say a lot lately “Me do it, K!” She’s very independent and wants to do everything herself. It’s now becoming a fight between us. I’ll say “No mommy needs to pour your milk.” Kate will yell back with lots of anger “NO me do it, K!”
Katelyn Phrases
No me do it, K
Tickle me
In a minute
Hold on
Missed you
Come on mom
