Nauvoo

So a couple weeks after we got back from our big long trip we were off again.  This time to Nauvoo and St. Louis.  Craig had a business trip he had to go to in St. Louis so we thought this would be a good chance for us to tag along and hit Nauvoo on our way.  Trip down was really good.  The drive wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.  Kate was really good and I didn’t get too uncomfortable (I was about 7 months at this point).  We literally pulled right into the edge of Nauvoo and this is when our car decides to break.  We needed a new water pump I guess.  Thank goodness for AAA.  They sent someone out to tow our car and fix it.  The only problem was it wasn’t going to be done until the next Tuesday (it was Sat.)  So we got a rental from the same place who was fixing our car and we drove that around for the weekend and all the way to St. Louis.  So the drive back on Tuesday was A LOT longer than we planned.  Instead of the 4 or 5 hours back to Chicago we had to back track back to Nauvoo to get the car and then back.  10 hrs. later we made it home.  It all worked out though and it was a really fun trip.  Collage Nauvoo

"I am going like a lamb to the slaughter; But I am calm as a summer's morning; I have a conscience void of offense towards God, and towards all men. I shall die innocent, and it shall yet be said of me — he was murdered in cold blood."

Joseph Smith uttered these prophetic words June 24, 1844, in the final moments of what would be his final horse ride from his beloved Nauvoo.

How fun! I would love to go to Nauvoo sometime, but Brandt has already been there and doesn't really want to go again. Sorry about your car. That was a neat story about the rocking horse - what a sweet dad to go all the way back to Nauvoo and get it for him.
